THIS IS SO FREAKY!

THE MAYONNAISE JAR & COFFEE

Got this thru e-mail. Very inspiring. Wanna go get a cuppa?

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full.

They agreed that it was.

So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous "yes".

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

"Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognise that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things — your God, family, your children, your health, your friends, and your favourite passions — things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, and your car. The sand is everything else — the small stuff.

"If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18 holes. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.   Take care of the golf balls first, the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."

AWAY FOR THE WEEKEND

Another 3 hour + I'll be going for my Retreat trip To Mt. Singai in Bau. Jointly organised by UiTM and Campus Ministry of St. Joseph Cathedral, the 2-days, 2-nights retreat will hopefully serve as an occasion for me to reflect again on the meaning and purpose of my life - the journey that I've had from birth, through youth, and  towards maturity. How am I progressing? Am I on course or is there a need for a change in direction? In the end, I hope for deeper conversion and renewal of my spiritual life.

Looking forward to a weekend filled with enlightenment and refreshment of the soul. Plus, the much needed exercise of trekking up the mountain.

Have a fun filled weekend. Take care all.

LOVE OF MY LIFE

Everyone have that someone we can call the love of our life. Whether its our parents, partners, spouse, sibling, offspring, friend, whatever. These are the people that you'll miss when they're not there and their presence can make your heart go all warm & fuzzy. Merely listening to their voice could give you this warm, fuzzy feeling.
I have some people I can call the love of my life.
  1. My parents
What more is there to say? They raised me up, sickly brat and all, and shaped me into what I am today. Although at that moment I never quite comprehend why they did all that they did, I've realized that it's for my own good (though it's hard to accept at that time lah).  Through all the years, I've came to realize just how many sacrifices that they've made just to accomodate my needs. Thank you Mom & Dad.

  2. My close Friends
These are my friends who I can rely on to provide accurate feedback. They will not gloss it all up, wrap, ribboned and all. They will give the naked truth, barbs and all. Painful but nonetheless, the truth. They are also people I can ring up at 2 a.m. to tell them 'bout that tummy ache I have. These are people who will be there for me, rain or shine. There for the laughters and also for the tears. Thank you dear friends, you know who you are.

  3. A very Significant Other
This person occupies a very special place in my heart. Who serenades me with songs in every phonecall. Who loves and adores me unconditionally. Who will whisper sweet nonsensical nothings in my ears. And make no mistake, she's just barely three years old. Heheh... Whaddaya thinking? huh? huh? She's my niece, Chechen la. (Laaa... Ingatkan sapa tadi.hehehe). She's the one who brightens me with her smile and stories. Her innocence reminds me that there is still something good and beautiful in this ugly world. And I kid you not, sometimes children can see the obvious answers that we as grown-ups usually overlook. Ah, the refreshing innocence of a child. Brings a smile to your face and also to your heart.

There you go. The love of my life. How about yours?
