Peribahasa Hidup: Antara Lembu dan Sapi

Image taken from here

Ahaks...
Sekianlah kamus peribahasa kita untuk hari ini.

Should I?

Been thinking of getting a dog, a small breed dog for quite some time (since last year to be exact). Since my kechik died last year, I can't bear the thought of getting another cat. There's no way any other cat can ever replace kechik. I miss him until today.

Why get a small breed dog? Firstly, I want to keep the dog indoors because of the high occurrences of dogs being poisoned (I don't know which a$holes punya angkara) in my neighbourhood. My sister's two puppies (remember Duke & Duchess?) were poisoned and they died last year.

Secondly, I don't think I can handle a large dog. And there's no way that I can bring a large dog indoors without the dog wrecking things inside the house. If that happens, the dog will definitely be barred from ever setting foot inside.

We have two cats at home (Dad's and Mum's) and they don't like to be cuddled. Pelik kan? A large dog will probably maul them or get its eyes scratched out by the two feline fatales. Haha...

So today, after going to the PC Fair, we stopped at Wonderpets on our way back. I asked the owner about small breed dogs. They were very helpful and spent some time answering my enquiries about what type of dog would be suitable for me. They even let me sit around and read books about different dogs.

Saw some shih tzu puppies, they were very playful and oh-so-cute but their grooming will be a nightmare since they have long hair. I can just imagine the number of times the house had to be swept because of the fur/hair . No, shih tzu is out.

Cute but No.

What about chihuahua? Errr, don't really like them. RM900... err...

Not-quite-cute and no.

Then the owner suggested the daschund a.k.a. Sausage dog. Price will be around RM500 for a puppy. Hmmm... Shorthaired and small so should be okay for me. Reading more about this breed to learn how to care and train it. From what I read, this breed is moderately active and this means spending some time to bring it out for a walk and play in the park. Maybe I will be able to exercise after all. Hehehe...

Anyone have experience with this particular breed?

Cute and definitely-maybe?

Anyway, the owner of Wonderpets told me that the puppies will be ready maybe in a month's time. What do you think? Should I?

Aku Seorang Guru

image taken from here

Aku seorang guru, bukan seorang kerani admin.

Aku seorang guru, bukan seorang kerani akaun.
Aku seorang guru, bukan seorang despatch.
Aku seorang guru, bukan seorang technician.
Aku seorang guru, bukan seorang bibik.
Aku seorang guru, aku ingin mendidik.
Aku seorang guru,

tempat ku bersama pelajar
bukannya ditemani fail-fail yang menimbun
kertas keliling pinggang
membukit hingga ke leher
Sesak
Rimas
Panas...
Aku ni cikgu woi!

I am currently swamped with 'homework'. Huh? Ya, teachers have homework too. In fact our homework lagi banyak than the students. Ini lah, itu lah... The list seems to be endless and this means it takes me further away from my core business which is teaching. I hate that. I am forced to do something that I don't enjoy (If I enjoyed paperwork, I'd stay working in the hotel line, okay?). Teaching IS my passion and being forced to focus on other things, it SUCKS! BIG TIME!

Sometimes I wonder if we are shortchanging our kids/students. Ya lah, supposed to be focused to teach and help them learn, but all this extras are taking a big chunk of our precious time. Although from my observation, there are those who seemed to be VERY relaxed and serene because... THEY DON'T CARE and they are afflicted with the M-illness. (Dear God, please NEVER let me become one of them. Amen.)

Oh Aba, why did you brought me up to be a perfectionist? I can never say "cincai jak lah". I can never do a half-assed work. Every success is measured against an ever increasing scale. I can never satisfy me. *sigh*

I'm rambling somehow. I know.

Debate season is here (sharpen claws once more). Also the trainer for Projek Gemilang for Debate (year-long programme).
Going for a meeting in Sibu next week. Staying at RH (again).
Will spend 3 days (full of agony) as examiner for the speaking test. Mental note to self: sediakan minyak cap kapak, minyak wangi, air freshener, pisau, kapak, chainsaw and candies.

p/s: My friend is allowed to return home today. Thank God for the smooth surgery. She will be resting at home for the week.

Say a Little Prayer

Dear friends,

Please spare a moment and pray for my friend Katy who's going to undergo an operation tomorrow to remove a growth in her breast. Pray that it's not going to be something more serious than it is now.

Pray for the surgeon and the nurses too, that God may guide them to provide care and assist healing.
Katy & I, Mid Valley CNY '07

Katy is a gem of a friend. She's like an elder sister to me and just like a big sister, she'd always comfort me when I'm down in the dumps, counsel me when I'm troubled and chided me when I acted like a b*tch. It's been a hell of a time for her since last year, so please dear friends, pray for things to get better. Pray that the dark clouds will pass soon and the silver lining to be within reach.
July '07 (Lunch with Dr.G at Lake Restaurant)
* I went to visit her in the hospital today. Ever her bubbly self, we spent the whole afternoon laughing and making jokes in her room. Accompanied her mum to buy some stuffs and to dinner. Tomorrow might be going again for a visit after her operation.
** Grace: she sent her regards to you too.

The Alphabets in My Life : F

Image taken from here

Oh dear, I almost forgot this post thread of mine. Yikes! 10 months already?! No wonder a lot of cobwebs and whatnots here.. Hehe. My bad. I know.

So, let's continue with this thread, shall we?

F is for:

Friends. Being a chatterbox, making friends when I was still a child was an easy and natural thing to do. One story my parents always recounted was on the first day we arrived in Song after moving from Sg. Amang, while my family was busy unpacking stuffs, suddenly I appeared with two durians. When my parents asked where on Earth did I get all that, I told them "My friend's mum gave it to me". From there began a lasting friendship between families.
However, as time goes by, I've realized making friends wasn't as easy now. Maybe back then I was still in the age of innocence, where fear was non-existent (fear of rejection I mean. Fear of hantu, jaws, buaya, penyamun je la back then).

My garang, no nonsense, kaki pukul face also could be a factor. Yes, I realize that. So only people who could break through or look past my appearance (muka garang), will know just how insane a friend I could be. At first glance, surely strangers will label me as sombong, garang, serious. Haha, how wrong could they be. As the saying goes, 'Never judge a book by its cover'.

Grade F = DIE!!! Sure my parents will make me die a thousand horrible bloody deaths!

F***SH*T!!! - one of the items in my SwearVocabBook. (Swearing is not nice. I know. But doctor say must vent anger wor, if not blood pressure go up up up. Hehe)

I can be very frank sometimes. Especially when asked for my opinion. I don't see the point of beating around the bush when a simple sentence will suffice to drive the point home. Unless the other person is prone to suicidal thoughts la (Later bunuh diri after listening to me how?)

Freak. I can be one sometimes. Haha

Fear. When I was a child, I am scared of things like hantu (I hate it when my sis cerita all those hantu stories from her college. Then whole night I would be sleepless and my ears become 'creative' in hearing things), jaws (after watching jaws, i takut air. Scared of swimming in the river. Come to think of it, sungai berbatu mana ada jaws?!), Crocodiles (blame it on the buaya stories) but I wouldn't think twice about masuk belukar. Sekarang baru tau kot-kot ada ular ka, naga ka, rimau ka dalam belukar tu. Cessss...

Love-hate relationship with facials. Need it but loathe the extraction process. Painful!

Hmm... What are the F's in your life?

Our Song : Lucky (Jason Mraz feat Colbie Caillat)

Do you hear me,
Talking to you
Across the water across the deep blue ocean
Under the open sky, oh my, baby I'm trying

Boy I hear you in my dreams
I feel your whisper across the sea
I keep you with me in my heart
You make it easier when life gets hard

Lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
Ooohh ooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

They don't know how long it takes
Waiting for a love like this
Every time we say goodbye
I wish we had one more kiss
I'll wait for you I promise you, I will

Lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
Lucky we're in love in every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday

And so I'm sailing through the sea
To an island where we'll meet
You'll hear the music fill the air
I'll put a flower in your hair

Though the breezes through trees
Move so pretty you're all I see
As the world keeps spinning round
You hold me right here right now

Lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
Lucky we're in love in every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday

Ooohh ooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Ooooh ooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

OMG, I fell in love with this song the moment I saw it on TV.
Yes, I'm lucky to be in love with someone that's a best friend to me and that we can be silly and crazy at times, to have love and be loved in every way.
Yes, I am lucky and so blessed in every way.

Comeback / Craving

Quite a long absence eh?
Was down with flu, fever, cough and the whole shebang... Recovery was extremely slow. Antibiotics make me stupid (so I didn't take it. Bad. I know. Shhh... Don't tell Dad).
Wednesday and Thursday, back to work. I looked like a 3-quarter zombie. Freaked out my students when they saw a 'different' me, so they behaved. Even my 4 'transformers'.
Good. I was in no mood to 'tegur2'. More like in the mood to 'hantam pakei kerusi'..Haha
They said I lost weight. No appetite to eat bah, Everything taste like sand and gravel or squashed up newspaper.
Had a haircut. You know, supposed to make me well or something.

Took Brand's Essence of Chicken on Friday (guess how many teachers it takes to uncap a bottle of this). I think this really helped me because I didn't really feel as wretched as I did on Wednesday.
Rained since 4 a.m. today. So I guess I'm staying at home. Going for my major repairs, oppsss, facial tommorow. Hopefully can go somewhere nice to makan.

-------------------------------------------------------
Currently I'm craving for kasam semah (preserved ikan semah). Eevrytime my grandma comes here, she'd always brought some for us (especially for greedy me). Maybe it's because I've just recovered, hence the crazy craving cycle will start...

I want kasam semah... Kasam semah with hot rice... Mmmm... Sedap wor
huhuhu
