Flashback 2009

2009 was a tumultuous year for me.

It started on a very bad note and every day was a personal hell of a struggle for me. At that time, it seemed like the dark days are going to remain forever.Only my closest friends knew the nitty-gritty details. These bunch of friends are privy to my most personal thoughts and feelings and they were my pillar of strength during those days. I am truly blessed to have them as my closest, bestest friends. Love you lots girls!

Life were truly hell during those days and yet at work I continued to be the same cheerful, upbeat person. Work was the only place I can escape the pain since being busy kept me from wallowing in misery. Everyone who knew me at work saw me joking and laughing as hard as ever but in reality, I was crying in my heart. I laughed because I believed that by laughing and joking, I could chase the blues away. I guess it worked as slowly but surely, I started to feel better albeit only at work.

The moment I reached home, the pain returns. The hurt of seeing objects that reminds me of the most painful, heartbreaking moment of my life. It hurt.

My room became my sanctuary. I kept to myself, keeping all communications at home to the absolute minimum. I was building my defences, anything to prevent from being hurt again. At times I wondered if things will ever get better at home...

And it did.

Slowly but things did change.

I know I changed. I became more assertive. I fought for what I believe in. Never been a stubborn one in the family and definitely not one to go against others, my change caught my family by surprise.

Promising signs are showing now, and I'm happy to see it.

I'm finally nearing the light at the end of the tunnel. It ain't over yet, but soon... soon, I will find my bliss.

To my dear readers,

Happy New Year 2010
May the coming year brings blessings, happiness, success, love and prosperity into our lives.
God bless!

xoxo

Snapshot: Christmas Cookies ver 1.0

This year I decided to bake only 2 types of Christmas cookies due to time constraint. Okay, maybe 3 if I can manage... Can't believe that last year I baked 5 types of cookies! o.O

Anyway, Christmas is not about how many types of cookies or cakes that we bake, or the table fully laden with food; It's the fellowship and camaraderie that we experience with family, friends and loved ones that matters.

Anyone want to come over for some Christmas visiting? You are very welcome to come! :-)

Snapshots: Holiday

I'm baaaacccckkk... *grin*grin*
Well, not actually back from my holiday... I'm still in KL enjoying myself doing nothing but relaxing and chilling out. My flight back is on this Sunday T.T huhuhu...
Soon, I'll be back to the chaos of baking and cleaning and decorating frenzy at home... Breaking into a sweat just thinking 'bout it... Phewwww...

My journey started with a 4-hour boat journey from Sarikei. It started out as quite a comfortable journey until we are out in the open sea. The water was quite choppy and halfway there was a rainstorm. Ughhhh! I ended up queasy and seasick, a rare thing to happen to me. By the time I reached my hotel room, all I wanted to do was to sleep... Ended up having a short nap after my shower and dinner, only woke up when my niece arrived.

The next day was spent in theSpring. As usual, spent a lot of time in MPH and ended up buying books :p... By the time my friend and niece arrived, we went for dinner at the food bazaar and what do you know, we just had to go to Parkson... Ended up buying a brown top and lace skirt by Anne Kelly. The skirt was for my niece, punyalah suka selepas berjaya menyembelih aunty tersayang yea...

The next day, went for lunch with my childhood friend, Danniel. Wah, all 'grown' now eh? LOL! Then off to the airport for my flight at 9pm... A freakin' 7-hour wait at the airport. Spent my time enjoying some coffee at Starbucks. Free wi-fi bah... Hehe. My ass kebas from all that sitting down.

Look at my eyes... The thing that I wanted most at this moment was to lie down on a bed and sleep. LOL! I was quite dizzy also ( it happens when my blood sugar level is low), so I quickly got myself some chocolates, otherwise I could pass out. :(
(p/s: I almost scared my friends to death once when I almost passed out because of hypo-glycaemia. That's why I always keep chocs or candies with me)

Met up with my ex-classmate and fellow blogger MamaDoyee. Had great fun chatting and shopping with her. Aqila and Aqif are seriously adorable... :) They were flying back to Miri the next day, so she was busy doing some last minute shopping... Ila betemu baru, capuh baru menua gasak tua Dolly... Haha
(p/s: I'm wearing the Anne Kelly top in the above pic)

I also went for the L'oreal makeover. Nice???
I love the way they styled my hair. If only I have my own personal hairstylist to style my hair for work, I'd wear this hairstyle to work... Hehe

Went to 1Utama to watch 'A Christmas Carol' in 3D... The movie was ok, quite enjoyable for me, though the seats were not quite strategic for a 3D movie. While we were there, saw a trio of gorgeous ladies performing Christmas songs using harps. I swear I was like a small kid waiting for the show to begin.

Dinner at BBQ chicken... Salad is not my thing but the salad here is delicious. A must try. Just forget about the fried chicken as it is quite bland and tasteless.

My trip to KL is not complete without enjoying some satay kajang. This time, I had satay rusa! Yay!!!
Satay Monster...Haha

Tis The Season To Be Merry

... so I decided to change the blog's appearance.

It's 28 days before Christmas.

So I decided to change the skin to keep up with the season.

Searched, downloaded and uploaded the theme.

Then... Madness, mayhem and chaos. Lost all the widgets and the links. Had to re-do everything from scratch, so if I missed your links, do tell me.

Decided to personalize the skin so had to do a bit of tweaking on the html code here and there until my eyes are seeing double and the head starts spinning (html? My programming lecturer would be so proud if he knew! I used to be hopeless when it comes to programming). Try doing coding on a teeny weeny-sized monitor! Bedarah bijik mata!

@%%&&*$$%#!!!

That aside, what are your plans this coming festive season?

  1. Christmas tree standing and 'blinking' already?
  2. Biscuits and cakes already listed down?
  3. Presents scouted and planned?
  4. Christmas outfit?

Last year the Christmas tree theme was red & gold. This year I'm thinking about blue & silver. Bought some ornaments for the tree, hopefully will be able to get more during the trip. Hehe *shopper mode* I'm the official Christmas Tree officer in the family. Meaning no one touches the tree but me. LOL!

Cakes are Mum's forte. I sure hope I have enough time to bake the biscuits as I'll only be back on the 20th. Hmmm... Susah2 aku beli je..Haha

Presents? I think I'll just grab the presents for my nephews and nieces while on holiday. Priority for the smaller ones though. Haha, pokai lah if I have to get for all 15. Yeah, I got 15 nephews and nieces.

I've got a few dresses that I have yet to wear so I'll just select one. Haha... (Konon lah... Nanti terjumpa baju lawa terbeli la pulak..LOL!)

p/s: I'll be Kch on Monday until my flight to KL on Wednesday... Holi-Holiday!!! Yay!

Snapshots: Perfect

Aaaahhh... Look at the expression on that cat's face. Pure unadulterated satisfaction. The day is just perfect for a snooze or two, with the light breeze and the stillness broken only by the chattering of the birds.

That's the thing I love most about this place, it's very peaceful and serene. It's not like the place where I'm living with lots of people all cramped together into a housing area. Truth be told, I seldom get out of the house unless I am going somewhere else. To see me walking around in the housing area? Not very likely, almost impossible.

I hate the noise and the lack of privacy. I hate the makcik pengumpat groups who always mengumpat at the back alley behind my room. I hate the fact that I can hear my neighbours fart (and that they can probably hear mine. LOL!). I hate it.

If I have my way, I'd love to stay somewhere like here. Maybe it's because I grew up living in government quarters back in Kapit years ago. Maybe somehow, it got ingrained in me that THIS is the way to be. Someone once told me, rugi buat rumah sendiri. Nanti nak jual tak laku. But for me, once I have the house of my dreams, buat apa nak jual?

One day.

One day I'll stay in the house of my dreams.

In the meantime, whenever I feel the urge to getaway, I'll come here. :-)

Snapshots: Saran Part 2

I visited them on Sunday. It was raining and somehow my car got stuck on the muddy ground near my brother's house. Great. Thankfully my nephews helped to push my car. Phew!

As usual, I took my camera along and managed to snap a few shots of my favorite subject: my nephew, Saran. :-)

This boy is a natural in front of a camera. Take for example this shot. I wasn't directing him or anything, he just posed like this for me. See how well it turned out to be?

p/s: I've been neglecting my photography hobby. Bogged down with tonnes of work so hopefully during this holiday, I'll manage to take more... :-)

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Going to visit my friend in Saratok tomorrow. Stay over at her place for a few days. Am looking forward for the yummy food that we're gonna enjoy there. LOL! Hopefully will be having nice subjects to photograph there too.

Funny things happened yesterday. 3 of my friends weren't aware that yesterday was payday. Hornbill siap menyumpah2 lagi when she saw a lot of people creating a not-quite-so-rare-nowadays traffic jam in Sarikei. It was when we were at the bank (I was paying for my car) that she suddenly noticed. LOL!

Going to send my car for maintenance servicing today. Huwarghhh... Then off to a much needed carwash. Ciao!

Hell, I did it again!!!

and now I have work work work even when the kids are enjoying their holiday (except for my exam kids la). Why do I have to do this (to myself) every single time beats me.

However, work can be fun.

WHATTTT????!!!!

It's fun when it's something I genuinely like doing. Something like preparing the teaching modules. Weird but that's fun for me. I enjoy it because it stimulates my mind. I need, no, crave mental stimulation. I enjoy it when I can utilize my strengths.

Mental stimulation. Yes.

Creativity. Yes.

Physical exertion. NO.
I'll not lie. I know my limits and I value my health and well-being. TQVM!

It's work for me when I don't enjoy it. When it's something that ranks somewhere near the region of visiting a dentist. When it's something like being in the committee for 'tanam bunga'. Come on, my parents wouldn't even trust me with a cactus plant. >.<

It's work when I dread every moment spent dealing with egoistic glamour-seeking homo sapiens...

It's work when I have to restrain myself from physically strangling or murdering those 'tai-chi' experts.

So far I'm done with the Form 5 Teaching Module.
MUET, 2 units to go.
Board of Prefects, in progress.
Bos kata tak siap, tak bleh cuti
ada aku kesah??? so kena siap jugak la

And right after that, I'll be going to Kch. Meeting my supervisor. Huh, aku perlukan doa bertan-tan... Mintak2 lah mak daten tu bukan tgh pertukaran angin monsun (I just want to get this thing over and done with. So I can move on, maybe do post-grad studies in education. Hoyeahhh!!!!).

Then, I'll fly to KL. CUTIIIIIII!!!!! ♥♥♥

So, to end my post... Enjoy another sajak spontan from me... Muahahaha

November Madness

... is almost over. Bogged down with the endless reports, meetings, evaluations, marking and whatnots that needs to be completed before the school holidays. Hence the long absence from blogging. I'm so busy that I haven't seen my lil' nephew. Balik rumah, mandi, makan, sambung kerja, sleep, wake up, work, and the cycle goes on...

Two more days... till school's over.

But next week I will still be in school. Have to make the preparations for next year's session. And also classes for my exam classes. Then December, org still enjoy2 bercuti bagai... I will be in school with the Prefects. Nasib badan jadi Guru Pengawas. Haha...

So this holiday, I plan to get enough R&R to last me through next year. I don't need a crystal ball to know that next year will be (another) busy year for me. Unless aku sendiri yang mencari nahas...LOL!

Modul. Modul. Modul. Mamposssss....

*may not make any sense to you readers. I told you it's November Madness.... Hahaha

Budget 2010: Sajak Spontan

Bonus oh Bonus
Bila kau ada
semua senyum gembira
minda mula berkira
Berbelanja apa kiranya...

Bonus oh bonus
Bila kau tiada
semua mulut mengata
mencaci cerca
menjeruk rasa
walau senyum bibirnya
hati dan jiwa rasa merana

Bonus oh bonus
Kau ada atau tiada
Syukur, syukur tetap terasa
kerna ku masih punya kerja...

Random Musings & Thoughts

Kepercayaan itu bagai bebola kaca
Sekali kau hempaskan,
ia hancur berderai.
Biar kau mampu cantumkan semua serpihan itu,
walau zahirnya ianya tampak sama persis sebelumnya,
kau harus sedar...
Rasanya tetap berbeza...

Bila sms kau ku terima,
Rupa2nya kau ingin membawa,

Travel Bug: Mulu Adventure

Mulu Caves: Deer Cave

This coming school holidays (Yay!), I am going somewhere I've always wanted to go ever since I saw 'that old documentary shown on RTM' when I was in primary school: The Mulu Caves.

I am going to visit the Deer Cave, Lang Cave, Wind Cave and Clearwater Cave... and to swim in the crystal-clear river... At last I'll fulfill the promise I made to myself when I watched the documentary. I am lucky that I did not get selected to invigilate any exams this year :-) Yeah Yeah boleh 'raun'2... Hehehe

I 'hasut'ed my usual travel buddy, Katy and managed to persuade Choo to join in. Pooh went there a few years back so she might not be joining us :-(

*mesti tingkatkan usaha menghasut Pooh*

So, any blogger friends out there interested to join us? I got an attractive package for 3D 2N inclusive of airfare Miri-Mulu-Miri, Accomodation, Food, Tours for only RM499.

The more the merrier kan?

Teacher Talk: My Boys & C.A.M

Phew... It's October already? My my, time flies when one is busy or having fun. October means that soon it will be school holidays (Yay!) but before the fun starts, I have tons of work to do. Preparing students for examinations, testimonials, marking, etc. (*sob*sob*).

Soon my 'boys' will be sitting for their SPM and then they'll be 'out there'. I'm sure I will miss them... My first 'anak-anak'. I put our class photo on my desk. Mischievious as they are, they're rather well-behaved, and I've my own methods to handle them. I think I'll cry during our farewell party :-(

I remember the day I reported for duty in school. When the Senior Assistant told me that I'm the Form Teacher in charge for the Vocational class, I couldn't help but notice the 'meaningful' glances exchanged between him and another senior teacher. I knew then that this would be one challenging task. The horror stories that the senior teachers told about vocational stream students soehow helped me to mentally and emotionally prepare myself to meet my 'kids'. After a period of adjustment, we went along rather well. I think the boys knew that underneath my 'stepmother' persona, I deeply care for each and every one of them. I don't care if others think that they're slow learners, I am proud for the fact that my boys at least jadi manusia. Apa guna pandai kalau perangai mengalahkan setan???

My dear boys, I wish you all the best. My blessings and prayers will be with you always. (and you better answer the summary question and the essays! LOL!)

--------------------------------------------------------

C.A.M. is what I'd like to call Cardiac Arrest Moment.

And I had one such moment yesterday.

I had just arrived in school when one girl, a form 6 student, came to me and passed a card to me (I shall write the dialogue in Iban).

Me: Eh, nama utai tuk?
(Eh, what is this?)

Girl: L**** enda ulih datai sekula, Cigu... Accident ia kemarik.
(L**** cannot come to school, Teacher. He had an accident yesterday.)

Me: Apu! Balat ia?
(Apu! How bad is his injuries?)

Girl: Belubang pala ia Cigu.
(There's a hole on his head)

Me (almost cardiac arrest): Hah?! Dini ia diatu???
(Hah?! Where is he now???)

*Mental picture: The image of him connected to every tube and wire in I.C.U.*

Girl: Ba rumah ia Cigu.
(He's at home, Teacher)

Me: Hah?! Bakani ko Doktor enggau ia deh?
(Hah?! What did the doctors do?)

*mental picture: Doktor geleng2 kepala, no hope so sent home*

Girl: Jait urang ia Cigu.
(They stitched him up, Teacher)

Me: Apu, berapa jait ia?
(How many stiches?)

*mental picture: He's all stitched up like Frankenstein*

Girl: Siti aja.
(Only one)

Me: Erk?!

*mentally tumbuk dinding*

Hampeh punya budak. Buat aku hampir sakit jantung je. Argh!

Come to think of it now... It's hilariously funny. LOL!

A teacher's life can be so very interesting. Our students' antics make excellent conversation material. Hehe...

To Be A Child

If I could be a child

But for a day

Oh, what a day it would be

To be young and carefree

To play and be merry

To laugh and be happy

Chasing butterflies

That flutters by

Lying on the grass

Watching the clouds sailing by

Searching for dragons and castles

And warriors in battles

Among those giant cotton balls

To jump in the rain

Those puddles of delights

Oh, to see the wonders

Through a child’s eyes

If only to be a child

But for a day

Chris Anakapai

August 2009

~ A poem I wrote while I was invigilating examinations.

I believe that, at least once in our life, we long to experience the innocence of our childhood again. To relive the memories we hold so dear in our hearts. The childish games, be it wading through puddles or the rough and tumble play that seemed never ending. A time when we were still unfazed by life. Where there were no worries other than making sure we never miss any episode of Gaban/Ultraman/Maero Attack or if Mum's cooking another vege feast. An age when trusting others is so easy. When every day is an adventure itself.

If given a chance, what childhood memory would you like to relive?

Food: M.M.P (Mushroom with Minced P*rk)

This was what I had for lunch yesterday. Lyana thought it was choc cornflakes with raisins at first glance. LOL!

This is a fairly easy and straightforward dish and it's heavenly paired with hot rice, glutinous rice and plain ol' bread... Hehe.

The Ingredients:
1 whole bulb of garlic (minced)
5 - 6 dried mushrooms (diced)
minced p*rk (can substitute with other meat ~ I think)
oyster sauce
sweet soy sauce
dark soy sauce (kicap masin la ni)
white/black pepper

The Steps:
1. Heat some oil in the wok. Add the garlic. Sautee till fragrant.
2.Add the mushrooms.
3. Add the minced p*rk. Stir everything together till it is well-mixed.
4. Add a little bit of water, not much, just to ensure that it's not going to burn.
5. Add the oyster sauce, both soy sauces and pepper to taste.
6.Fry on medium heat until the water is all gone. Remember to stir it once in a while.

There you have it... I like to eat this together with glutinous rice. Layer it on top of the glutinous rice... Mmmmmm... Yummy!

Do you like it?

Travels: Miri Roadtrip

I've always wanted to visit this place :-)

Don't we all love holidays? I sure do when I have things to occupy my time like *cough* Farmville, BarnBuddy *cough* and also travelling.

I've never set foot on the oil city of Sarawak. So kesian kan? Dulu-dulu kena offer study in both KDTH and SMS Miri, parents tak bagi... Kalau tidak aku sudah jadi akak senior yg 'penyayang' to Hornbill. Huh...

So I managed to hasut a few friends to go for a road trip during the Raya holidays. Apart from the few glitches before we set off everything went well during the trip. Kat managed to find a driver a.k.a. Bodyguard for us. Thanks Dhilang!

The travel gang

The drive were fairly uneventful but darn it! There were so many big vehicles on the road! Keretapi je takde. It was a hair-raising experience trying to overtake all those gigantic vehicles on the 'patchwork quilt' road that we called 'Pan-Borneo highway'.. tsk.

Had lunch at Bintulu (tak sedap!), I didn't finish my food. Then we continued our journey using the coastal road. Saw one fatal accident where the car looked more like a scrap of metal after it crashed onto a big lorry.

Luak Bay

While we were in Miri we visited places like Luak Bay, Tanjung Lobang, Marina Bay, Grand Old Lady, Taman Awam, City Fan and some of the shopping complexes there. Bought some clothes and sandals (now that I can't wear heels)... Bought some vodka and a mini bottle of Icewine too (for my collection).

I must say that I like the beaches. I love the feeling of the wind blowing from the sea. The smell of the sea with the salty tang and the cool breeze from the sea. Ah, peaceful... if not for the noisy chatter of the other visitors. Hruummpphhh!

The journey back was quite smooth as it was the 2nd day of Raya, if not for the fact that my front tyre was punctured by a metal nut... Dang! Had to make a U-turn to Bintulu and tried to find a tyre shop but none were open that day. There has got to be 5 tyre centres in that area but none were open. WTF!!! Luckily there was a workshop that was open and the proprietor was very kind to help us change the tyres. Made another stop at Tatau and there was a tyre shop open for business and I changed my tyres there. *sound of money flying again*

In all, I enjoyed myself during this trip. I met my juniors: Sam, Shera, Alex & Marde. Alex & Marde invited me to go to Long San next time. Hehehe... I'll see what I can do about that.

I'm already thinking of where to go for my next roadtrip..Haha

Mini-Shout: Octavious Saran

It feels like just yesterday that I was eagerly waiting for his arrival from the hospital.
Soon, he'll be one year old. He's already starting to take a few steps and he can stand on his own. Soon he'll be running and then the terrible 'hobi-panjat-tangga' age will soon be here.

And real soon, he'll be a big brother to twins.

Yes, my sis-in-law and bro are expecting twins this November.

*smiles* More pics of Saran here.

Snapshot: Choc Fix

Want some?

Nothing beats having delicious chocolates for that sugar fix at the end of a (very) hectic day. I bought these during my vacation in Langkawi last month. (Got some cheap booze there too. Next time I'm going there, I'm going to get myself a bottle of Absolut Apeach Vodka. Sedap...)

Today was a very tiring day for me with a little bit of fun and pain thrown in for good measure. I enjoyed delivering my presentation on Continuous Writing Techniques for the SPM Workshop. After the presentation, I spent 3 hours with 37 students (my own class + another class: both Mickey Mouse - students) to teach them how to answer Paper 2. The students from the other class behaved themselves rather well. I guessed it must be either my colleague's doing or the kids memang naturally scared of me. Well, if that makes them behave, sit and actually learn something, why not?

The pain?
Standing for long hours is definitely unkind to my poor knee. At one point, it felt 'locked'/'jammed'... I had to hobble. Hate! Hate! Hate!

Looking forward to Saturday. Another road trip with friends. Yay!

Dad Says The Dardenest Things (Sometimes)

I recalled this phone conversation I had with my Dad last Sunday over the phone. My Dad had asked me to buy dog shampoo when I went to Sibu for my facials.

Location: Wonderpets, Sibu

Me: Nama bansa shampoo ukoi asuh nuan beli nya?
(What's the shampoo brand that you want me to get?)

Dad: Enda aku ingat, ba rumah Lin aku diatu.
(I can't recall, I'm at Lin's (my sister) house now)

Me: Bah, bakani aku ka meli deh enti enda temu bansa ni nya?
(How am I supposed to buy it if I don't know which brand?)

Dad: Nya botol iya, ke bisi gambar ukoi...
(The bottle has a picture of a dog)

Me: Enti shampoo ukoi mesti la gambar ia ukoi... (dalam hati: enda patut gambar unta..cess)
(If it's dog shampoo of course there'll be a dog in the picture... (mentally: would it be a camel? cess)

LOL!

Anyway, Happy Birthday Aba and Mak! (Sept 10 and Sept 11)
My Dad's 64 and my Mum's 58.

The Birthday 'Boy' and 'Girl'... Hehe

Dad surrounded by (some of) his grandchildren
The food

Took them out for dinner last night. Actually wanted to have steamboat dinner but the restaurant was booked for a function so we went to a seafood restaurant. The food was ok, although I thought the sea cucumber soup wasn't sour enough. The butter prawns were good and I like the garlic kangkung. The perut ahem was just ok for me... Didn't take the midin though.

Health: Love Thy Knees

Hi folks :-) *waves*

Been away as I was bogged down by work, loads of it, and most of the time I couldn't be arsed to think of blogging, let alone to actually write a post. Haha... Tanam sayur kat BarnBuddy rajin la aku... LOL!

Another reason is that my left knee was giving me trouble. At first I thought nothing of it as I have been experiencing knee discomfort for quite some time albeit being on-off. But when the 'clicking' sound/sensation every time I walk gets louder / amplified, and even my hips pun ter'click' also sometimes, I finally decided to see an orthosurgeon. I thought that it was something that the doctor would be able to fix by twisting my legs this way and that way... Mana tau...

First, the examination. I think the room must be sound proof as my parents didn't hear my screams from outside. Yes, I screamed. Siap pukul2 dinding lagi tu.

Next, the X-ray... 3 X-rays were done on my knee. Wah, mesti lutut aku rasa macam celebrity je...

Finally, the BOMB. My X-rays came out normal because the bones and stuffs were found to be in their proper places. So the doctor explained to me 2 possible causes for my problems... Either abnormality or injury.

Plica syndrome or Meniscal Tear.

Both may require surgery to ensure permanent curative effect. In the mean time, I must take medications and see if it helps. Ubat lagi. Dah la aku benci ubat!!!

Huhu, the surgery alone will cost me an arm and both legs (even my knee pun kena jual). But as my friend say, duit boleh cari... yang penting sihat and better quality of life.

The doctor advised me not to go up/down stairs (Dad/Bos, bila nak install escalator kat rumah/sekolah?) and no squatting. No jogging, long distance walking, etc (Gee, I haven't jogged in years la) and do low-impact exercises.

Thoughts: Why Do I Blog?

opps.. eee...boring lah maca blok urang tu...nadai tuju bah..

A comment left sometime yesterday by an anonymous visitor (using the nickname opps) on my shoutbox left me with quite a mixed reaction.

I was

Surprised: The fact that someone other than my blogger friends IS actually reading MY blog.

Peeved: The fact that the visitor took the cowardice approach of hiding behind a nickname without even an e-mail link.

Amused: The fact that MY blog bothered this person so much that he/she left a comment that he/she found reading MY blog bored the hell outta him/her.

Well, all I can say to you Mr/Ms Opps is that, I blog for myself.

I repeat, MYSELF.

I don't blog for commercial purposes and I don't aim to entertain. I just write because I find it therapeutic. A way for me to seek clarity of mind.

Watch out! I'm thinking.

When I first started this blog 5 years ago (what?! A 'bosan' blog like this can last for that long?! Die already lah you!), I was recovering from a failed relationship. This acted as a sanctuary for me where I can seek refuge and healing. Back then my readership was something like only 3 (or was it 4?) readers, yours truly included. So you see, it wasn't fame or popularity that I aim for.

I write for ME.

Then came the new visitors. I met wonderful people like Junaidix, Carneyz, Cuthess, Puteri and a few more, and from leaving comments on each other's blog, we became online friends. We shared our stories, our good/bad days and we cheered each other up. We SHARED and we CARED. From being merely online friends, I've come to know them in the real world. I became friends with bloggers like Cuthess, Grace, Puteri, Lyana, Coki, Flo, Ubek, Arthur@SuiTuaPui, and then some more (you guys know who you are). So, from being merely a place for my verbal diarrhoea, this blog has evolved into an avenue for me to meet new friends and renew old acquaintances (and even meet a few relatives along the way, like my uncle Desmond).

My blogger turned real life friends / best friends (Cuthess and Grace)

Lyana and Ms Coki who I've recently met and discovered to be as hillarious as their online persona (photo credits to Puteri)

Now, I don't know why they visit my blog: maybe they find it interesting (Good heavens! Really???) or maybe it's just something like a habit. I don't know, you ask them.

But still I write for ME.

If you have bothered to read all my posts (caution though, your eyes might bleed from all that reading), you will notice that in the 5 (unbelievable?!!) years, my writing has somehow evolved. Changed. Be it good or bad, I don't know. I can't kiss my own ass you see. How to puji diri sendiri? Silap-silap syok sendiri pulak.

Sometimes I write about work, life, friends and the occassional rants. I write about everything.

Because I write for ME.

I don't believe in creating a blog where I only put up posts 'copied and pasted' from other sites. A blog that aims only to entertain. And I certainly don't believe in pasting semi-naked pictures of myself to accompany my posts. Yeah, I know that it might gain me more visitors and boosts the readership but for what? It's not the quantity that matters, but quality. Even if I get a lot of readers but they don't give a hoot as to what I am writing, I'd trade the numbers any time for a few readers who really cared enough to find the story behind the writings. To know who I am instead of just another blog to hop in and out of.

They've been reading my 'crappy blog' for years

Because I blog for ME.

And guess what?

It will continue.

p/s:
Now I have no idea whether Mr/Ms Opps will read/is reading this post but anyway, thanks to him/her, I'm inspired to share my thoughts on blogging.
Or maybe he/she won't read it.
Maybe my 'blok' is boring because I wrote in English. Dang that!

Poem: Exam Blues

Original image from here
These numbers are spinning
My brain is shrinking
Cold sweat breaking
I’m not faking
I did some reading
Before coming
But when starting
To do calculating
My brain went flying
I think I’m dying
I feel like crying
Though it’s embarrassing
I have stopped caring
Though I won’t try cheating
Teacher, teacher
I need some helping

Note: Wrote this while I was invigilating one of my classes sitting for their Add Maths paper. =)

Video: Song of a Desperate Man *panas*

UPDATE!!!:
The guy emailed my bestie (1st one he 'tekel' last time) and asked her to keep in touch since he's 'back in d game'... Wow, within 24 hours after being 'indirectly rejected'... Now, that's FAST!!!

LOL!!!!

This must be the theme song for the loser-guy who tried to 'tekel2' my bestie. The very same guy that 'tekel' another bestie and wanted to kikis her RM!!! Luckily my friend realized his true colours and escaped. Phewwww...

Thanks to my gut feeling, it was my instinct that screams out that this could be the same guy when my friend told me about this guy trying to 'tekel' her. And after further investigation on my part (simultaneous chatting with both besties), yes, it is indeed!
Mangkuk hayun! Kau ingat dunia ini besar sangat ka until we will not find out about your skeletons?

This guy's modus operandi is easy:
Find a lady with career, preferably a professional.
Lots of sweet talk, "don't call me by my name, call me 'dear', 'sulu', etc" (no wonder sebab his real name sucks!)
Beggings and pleadings asking the lady to fly/drive up to where he is to meet him (Hello? Perempuan pergi cari kau???!!!)
Pujuk rayu ajak kawen walaupun baru2 jak kenal. The lady belum mengaku pun maok jadi girlfren... (Huh????nutcase sunggoh)
and then...
jeng jeng jeng
mula la this loser minta itu dan ini, minta the lady to loan money la etc la for him.
Ptui! Parasit sunggoh!

Dengar2 nya lah kan, this guy adalah BF (masih kah?) kepada seorang penyanyi Iban yang top itewwww... siapa? shhhhhhh... ney boleh padah...

So girls out there, be very careful of this kind of guy ah. Silap haribulan dengan you sekali dia gadai nanti...

So back to my story, my bestie memang no interest in this guy but this guy so persistent la. I told her to ignore him until he get bored and starts to seek new prey.

Announcement (over hugeass P.A. system):
"Perhatian, perhatian..kepada ibu bapa kepada anak yang desperet ini, sila tuntut anak anda di kaunter pertanyaan"...Muahahahaha

Random: Lawak Gurauan Senda

* Some jokes that a friend e-mailed to me.
Enjoy!

KEMALANGAN JALAN RAYA:
Si monyet menirukan gerakan mabuk sambil mengayakan minum arak..
Polis : “Oh…lelaki itu sedang mabuk masa memandu. Dan bagaimana pulak wanita tua itu? Anak-anak juga buat apa?”
Si monyet menirukan posisi orang tidur.. kemudian bergerak-gerak spt orang sedang bertengkar.
“Oh…okey.. saya dah faham.. wanita tua itu tidur dan anak2nya bertengkar dalam kereta.. dan kamu sendiri pula buat apa monyet?”
Dan… si monyet kemudian menirukan gaya memandu…

"Ooo..kesian... dulu sia mati kena heart attack." Kata Hantu A ramah.
"Kau memang sakit jantung kronik? Knapa ko tida pigi buat operation? Hantu B tanya.
"Ada buat! Tapi panjang ba cerita..." jawab Hantu A sayu.
"Ceritala sikit..Sambil-sambil lepak nih.."
"MaCam ini.. sia syak isteri sia main kayu tiga. So this one day, sia ingat mau perangkap dia. Sia pura-pura pigi karja tapi actually sia park kreta sana simpang hujung ruma. Tida lama, masuk satu kreta. "
"So, ko dapatla tangkap diorang?" tanya Hantu B penuh minat.
"Tida. Sia jumpa bini sia dalam bilik. Yang sia heran, masa sia masuk ruma tu, sia nampak ada kasut laki2. Sia pun lari-lari sekeliling ruma aku cari tu jantan. Abis sumua bilik sia cari pun... Last-last, sebab sia penat sia trus jatuh pengsan sebab heart attack. Trus sia mati la.." kata Hantu A mengakhiri ceritanya dengan kesedihan.
Hantu B terdiam mendengarkan cerita Hantu A.
Selepas beberapa ketika, Hantu B geleng2 kepala slow2 baru dia cakap
"Kenapa kau tida check tu aisbok? Kalau kau check tu mungkin kita dua masih hidup lagi." si hantu B bilang dengan sedih...
