Snapshots: Holiday

I'm baaaacccckkk... *grin*grin*
Well, not actually back from my holiday... I'm still in KL enjoying myself doing nothing but relaxing and chilling out. My flight back is on this Sunday T.T huhuhu...
Soon, I'll be back to the chaos of baking and cleaning and decorating frenzy at home... Breaking into a sweat just thinking 'bout it... Phewwww...

My journey started with a 4-hour boat journey from Sarikei. It started out as quite a comfortable journey until we are out in the open sea. The water was quite choppy and halfway there was a rainstorm. Ughhhh! I ended up queasy and seasick, a rare thing to happen to me. By the time I reached my hotel room, all I wanted to do was to sleep... Ended up having a short nap after my shower and dinner, only woke up when my niece arrived.

The next day was spent in theSpring. As usual, spent a lot of time in MPH and ended up buying books :p... By the time my friend and niece arrived, we went for dinner at the food bazaar and what do you know, we just had to go to Parkson... Ended up buying a brown top and lace skirt by Anne Kelly. The skirt was for my niece, punyalah suka selepas berjaya menyembelih aunty tersayang yea...

The next day, went for lunch with my childhood friend, Danniel. Wah, all 'grown' now eh? LOL! Then off to the airport for my flight at 9pm... A freakin' 7-hour wait at the airport. Spent my time enjoying some coffee at Starbucks. Free wi-fi bah... Hehe. My ass kebas from all that sitting down.

Look at my eyes... The thing that I wanted most at this moment was to lie down on a bed and sleep. LOL! I was quite dizzy also ( it happens when my blood sugar level is low), so I quickly got myself some chocolates, otherwise I could pass out. :(
(p/s: I almost scared my friends to death once when I almost passed out because of hypo-glycaemia. That's why I always keep chocs or candies with me)

Met up with my ex-classmate and fellow blogger MamaDoyee. Had great fun chatting and shopping with her. Aqila and Aqif are seriously adorable... :) They were flying back to Miri the next day, so she was busy doing some last minute shopping... Ila betemu baru, capuh baru menua gasak tua Dolly... Haha
(p/s: I'm wearing the Anne Kelly top in the above pic)

I also went for the L'oreal makeover. Nice???
I love the way they styled my hair. If only I have my own personal hairstylist to style my hair for work, I'd wear this hairstyle to work... Hehe

Went to 1Utama to watch 'A Christmas Carol' in 3D... The movie was ok, quite enjoyable for me, though the seats were not quite strategic for a 3D movie. While we were there, saw a trio of gorgeous ladies performing Christmas songs using harps. I swear I was like a small kid waiting for the show to begin.

Dinner at BBQ chicken... Salad is not my thing but the salad here is delicious. A must try. Just forget about the fried chicken as it is quite bland and tasteless.

My trip to KL is not complete without enjoying some satay kajang. This time, I had satay rusa! Yay!!!
Satay Monster...Haha

Travel Bug: Mulu Adventure

Mulu Caves: Deer Cave

This coming school holidays (Yay!), I am going somewhere I've always wanted to go ever since I saw 'that old documentary shown on RTM' when I was in primary school: The Mulu Caves.

I am going to visit the Deer Cave, Lang Cave, Wind Cave and Clearwater Cave... and to swim in the crystal-clear river... At last I'll fulfill the promise I made to myself when I watched the documentary. I am lucky that I did not get selected to invigilate any exams this year :-) Yeah Yeah boleh 'raun'2... Hehehe

I 'hasut'ed my usual travel buddy, Katy and managed to persuade Choo to join in. Pooh went there a few years back so she might not be joining us :-(

*mesti tingkatkan usaha menghasut Pooh*

So, any blogger friends out there interested to join us? I got an attractive package for 3D 2N inclusive of airfare Miri-Mulu-Miri, Accomodation, Food, Tours for only RM499.

The more the merrier kan?

Travels: Miri Roadtrip

I've always wanted to visit this place :-)

Don't we all love holidays? I sure do when I have things to occupy my time like *cough* Farmville, BarnBuddy *cough* and also travelling.

I've never set foot on the oil city of Sarawak. So kesian kan? Dulu-dulu kena offer study in both KDTH and SMS Miri, parents tak bagi... Kalau tidak aku sudah jadi akak senior yg 'penyayang' to Hornbill. Huh...

So I managed to hasut a few friends to go for a road trip during the Raya holidays. Apart from the few glitches before we set off everything went well during the trip. Kat managed to find a driver a.k.a. Bodyguard for us. Thanks Dhilang!

The travel gang

The drive were fairly uneventful but darn it! There were so many big vehicles on the road! Keretapi je takde. It was a hair-raising experience trying to overtake all those gigantic vehicles on the 'patchwork quilt' road that we called 'Pan-Borneo highway'.. tsk.

Had lunch at Bintulu (tak sedap!), I didn't finish my food. Then we continued our journey using the coastal road. Saw one fatal accident where the car looked more like a scrap of metal after it crashed onto a big lorry.

Luak Bay

While we were in Miri we visited places like Luak Bay, Tanjung Lobang, Marina Bay, Grand Old Lady, Taman Awam, City Fan and some of the shopping complexes there. Bought some clothes and sandals (now that I can't wear heels)... Bought some vodka and a mini bottle of Icewine too (for my collection).

I must say that I like the beaches. I love the feeling of the wind blowing from the sea. The smell of the sea with the salty tang and the cool breeze from the sea. Ah, peaceful... if not for the noisy chatter of the other visitors. Hruummpphhh!

The journey back was quite smooth as it was the 2nd day of Raya, if not for the fact that my front tyre was punctured by a metal nut... Dang! Had to make a U-turn to Bintulu and tried to find a tyre shop but none were open that day. There has got to be 5 tyre centres in that area but none were open. WTF!!! Luckily there was a workshop that was open and the proprietor was very kind to help us change the tyres. Made another stop at Tatau and there was a tyre shop open for business and I changed my tyres there. *sound of money flying again*

In all, I enjoyed myself during this trip. I met my juniors: Sam, Shera, Alex & Marde. Alex & Marde invited me to go to Long San next time. Hehehe... I'll see what I can do about that.

I'm already thinking of where to go for my next roadtrip..Haha

I'm Back to Living 6-to-5

Just reached home at 4 pm. First time ever for me to use a taxi and then a bus from the airport to home. Due to miscommunication and plain stupidity on my part, there's no one picking me up at the airport. I SMSed Dad when I was in LCCT, forgetting how 'often' he checked his mobile. Dumb me! The ride was not as bad as I expected, my flight back was worse. There was a bunch (hell no, a whole lotta them) aunties and uncles on board and they must've mistaken the plane for an express boat. The stewardesses tried to explain to them that they need to sit according to the seat number assigned on their boarding pass and get their fat ass on their seats a.s.a.p... But nooooo, they want to exchange seats, etc. Aiyoh, do that once we're airborne lah! Or jump out the nearest exit for all I care. We only took off 30 minutes later thanks to these ridiculous people... It doesn't help that the flight attendants were rather snobby(?)... The ones on my flight to KL were waaaayyyyyy better than them and they were friendly and pleasant to the max.

Oh yeah, before I forgot, Sorry to my friends in KL for not meeting up. I seldom go online while I was there and my darling 'sopir' was busy working. In fact I became the travel companion/navigator/tukang buka drinks during the day. Visiting areas all around Selangor, it was tiring but enjoyable also. Squeezed in some sightseeing also during these trips. Hehe...

Some pics I took...Bukit Melawati
I forgot the name of this species of monkeys but they are the harmless ones (unlike those nasty ones back in UM). We circled Bukit Melawati 3 times (!) just to take this picture of a monkey and its baby. Look at the colour of the baby monkey. LOL! Reminds me of some ah beng hair colour job gone crazy... LOL!
Morib Beach. Had some kerang bakar, sotong bakar and otak2 here... Eewww... I found one otak2 with dried up fly eggs inside. Extra ingredients anyone?
Found horseshoe crabs hiding in the sands. We pulled them out (well actually my partner pulled them out, but I saw them first!) true to what people always say, it always come in pairs!

Holiday Update

*Giggles*

Floating on Cloud 9... Nothing beats enjoying a holiday with a great company ;-)
and great food. Seriously we must stop watching AFC or Travel & Living channels... First it was satay, today teppanyaki. All because of food programmes on the telly. Muahahaha...

Haven't touched any exam papers yet. Must. Start. Now... Umm... Maybe later...

On a personal note, things are looking way much better now. Glad that things are working. Sheer willpower ensures happiness. Thanks to those who've been supporting me in my hour of darkest crisis (especially my dearest Grace and Sula, Katy and Deb. You've seen me at the worst point and you gave me support and encouragement. Love u girls!)

p/s: No pics. Forgot to bring my memory card reader.

A Day of Firsts (Huh?)

Yesterday was the

1. First time I went to Ruby (loved the prawns and the mayo pork! Been wanting to makan here but Murphy's Law dictates that things must always work against it)
2. First time I met STP in person.
Who, coincidentally celebrated the 1st anniversary of his blog yesterday. Happy anniversary! The very same person who introduced Ruby to me through his blog. Aiyo, if you're hungry please don't visit his blog. It will make you suffer. LOL! One interesting fact is that we know the same people (and loathe the same ones too!) Wawawa...
p/s: Next time it's my treat ya!

Delicious food! BTW, that's STP's hand taking pics of our food.

3. First time I went for a mani & pedi.
Huhu... I was stressed so I decided to pamper myself. Not that I'd do this everyday. Mati la...
I loved the flowers that they put on my toenails.
(my friend commented: Wa, your toenails so small la. Macam satu dot saja.)
I *heart* them flowers.
My toenails are small. I know. Shaddup!

The girl who did my toes must be new. It hurts when she was cutting the cuticles. Aiyo, so concentrate pun boleh accidentaly cut my toes ka? The other girl was much better. With 3 years experience, I'm in good hands. Hehehe...
Already hasut my friend to do this again next time. Hehehe...
Lalalalala...*admiring my shiny fingernails and toenails*
(Tuesday have to wear pumps to school so will not be able to show off my cute toes. KS is coming and he's the mean one. Not going to give him any excuse to blow steam)Took this pic while my pedicurist clipped me toes my cuticles off, hence the not-so-ikhlas smile... Hehe
But I gotta say this, the chair was heavenly.

Like STP said here, I went to Sibu for my monthly facial (major repairs lagi katanya LOL!). Very busy with work and whatnots ever since the new boss arrived (and the old one chased away transferred), so you can only imagine how stress had taken its toll on my face. Pimples sprouting here and there (even on my earlobes *Damn* that's painful tau?). By the time I reached home I couldn't be arsed to 'double cleanse' and whateverbeautyregime that I had to do. I just want to shower and hit my bed. It's that tiring okay? So, little wonder that I need these monthly repairs, oopppsss, monthly facials to keep my face glowing and smooth (okay, maybe not smooth but at least better than the sarikei-sibu road lah!)... Unless I wanted to scare a rottweiler with my looks. Hehehe

p/s: Coki, I'll do the tag when I got d time ya!..hehehe
p/p/s: Just realized that I missed my own blog's 5th annniversary on 27th February *sigh* That shows just how busy I am... -.-"

Holiday is here

I know I've been MIA for quite a while. Now that SPM is finally over, then I can blog babeh... Haha. Can't promise I'll post a million entries but hey, at least once in a while. Holiday's even more tiring thing than my working days.
My list for the holiday:
- My cousin's moving to her new house. So have to volunteer jadi kuli batak/driver/mandur/interior designer/tukang menyibuk.
- We are going to Sri Aman for my late cousin's Gawai Antu ceremony.
- Kuli mencuci rumah.
- Have to go to school also since our beloved Pingu mintak itu dan ini... This is why I'd so hate those people who voted for me as the AJK Staf.
- My own 'partayyyy' (stress-inducing)
- a zillion things that my family will surely request/mintak/order me to do

----------------------------------------------------
What are posts without pictures to accompany it. Here's some taken using not-so-impressive 6210Classic's konon nya 2MP camera.

Taken at a beach in Sematan. The sea was rather choppy so we could only roll in the waves a la Dugong/Penguin/Seal..Haha

Next, take a look at my loot from Serikin..Heheh...

Take a look at this heap of nasi campur that I had at Red Dragon Cafe/Restaurant at Bau. This only cost me RM4.50... Now that is cheap since I took sweet n sour pork, pork and salted vege soup, kachang ma chicken and vege... I want to go there again..Huhu...
Me jadik mak datin since my travel partner didn't trust me to drive a manual car..Haha... Lagi la aku senang hati..
I got my new magnetic scrabble set..Yippeee....
The view from my friend's house in Bau. Beautiful...Cemburu nya....
Geng ronda2

My (ongoing) holiday project...

Buah Pakan (I mabuk after eating this fruit... So sad)
Assam Fish Head @ SugarBun S'kei (notice the 'head' is actually the tail but i'm not complaining) I found it delicious. Will definitely go and have it again.

Weekend Road Trip

I'm going on a road trip this weekend with my 2 partners-in-crime, Jos and Anie. Our destination? Bau-Lundu-Kch-Serikin. Will be staying at Jos' village in Bau and then we'll meet choo2 in Lundu (Jos is transferred there *sob*sob* kurang satu member breakfast). Jalan2, makan2, etc.
The part I'm looking forward to the most: shopping in Serikin. Forget the Spring, Boulevard, etc. This is the place to hunt for beautiful fabrics at very el-cheapo prices. Habis lah mak memborong kain-kain segala...

Snapshots: Birthday / Sibu Trip

Check out the candles on the birthday cake... Whose birthday is it? Tell you later...hehehe
-----------------------------------------------

Last Saturday my colleagues wanted to cheer me up so we went to Sibu for some R&R (more like stuffing our fat comel faces with food lah!)
Camwhoring before leaving. FYI, the blanket behind me is made by my paternal grandma. In case of emergency, it'll be one of the first things I grab. Hehehe

Okay, sidetracked a bit..

Back to the trip, we went to De Beauty at somewhere not far from Medan Mall since my friends had an appointment for a facial. The people there were so nice and the also offered me a promotional price for a facial. My verdict: their service was excellent and I liked my therapist, Josephine. The face massage and the neck and shoulder massage was heavenly. I don't really like facials since the blackhead-extraction session is bloodyawful painful, but they managed it without making me wish I was anesthetized first. I'll definitely go there again. Radiant skin, here I come!

After the torture facial session, we went for lunch at Sushi Tie @ Wisma Sanyan. I ordered the Unagi set meal and I absolutely *heart* it...Mmmmm... Unagi...I like

My two friends ordered these Gyu-something and the Chicken Teppanyaki... Nice but still can't beat my unagi lah..Muahahahaha

One thing I liked about this makan place is the free-quent refills of the drinks, in this case, green tea. I like the green tea since it is not of the jasmine variety because I hate the smell of jasmine green tea.

Post lunch, we went to Delta Mall. Went to Kokoberry and had the crepe. Sadly my crepe was not as fresh as I would have wanted although the drinks are fine. Hehe

Then we went to get some stuffs at Farley and before leaving for home, we had some tea at Farley Pinnacle. One thing I liked about this place is the ambiance and the Pinnacle Chicken Wings. Still one of my favourite place for a snack. =)

With S-min, my colleague-in-crime. Haha...
-------------------------------------------------------

Still wondering whose birthday it was?

It's this HOT couple's joint birthday. It was a surprise birthday do that we did for them. Hehehe... Dad celebrated his *cough* 36th birthday and Mum's 6 years younger than he is. Heheheh...

Aba & Mak,
Happy birthday!
May God continue to bless you always.
p/s: Pls nag a lil' bit less. Hehehe
