December Comes

December is here :-) and I love December the best second best (since October is my new fav month...LOL!).

Why?

December means Christmas is near! Yay!!! Family, Food, Pressies and most importantly we're celebrating Christ's birth...

Christmas means it's time again for Christmas shopping... Ngeeeeee...... Christmas deco... Hmmm..... *plan plan plan* In 2008 it was red-gold theme. Then in 2009, Red theme. This year? Maybe silver-blue, silver or blue... What do you think?

December means that it's MY birthday too! 29th December! Now don't say you don't know my birthday ya! LOL! Another year wiser, sassier and wittier. Don't ask me my age, I stopped counting my age after my 23rd birthday. Dunno why 23rd... So I'm 23rd forever...LOL!

This Christmas brings a new chapter also to my life. I will be celebrating with my hubby as husband & wife. Which means: I have to bake 2 sets of cookies - for my parents and also for the in-laws. My MIL dah terikat tgn ngan kaki sbg full-time nanny for my SIL, so confirm cannot do anything for Xmas...

Where? Dunno yet but since my eldest niece's engagement on that day, probably at my parents' place kot... Or spend the eve at my in-laws place maybe then after Christmas Mass go to my parents' place. Haih... Nasib baik only 45 mins drive between both places... Kalau jauh mati lah bercakaq laki bini...Huahuahua

This December also I'm hoping that my appeal for transfer will be approved. *fingers crossed* Getting sick of seeing some 'double-tray-faces' (Mmy RST, not u ah... You are my sunshine!) and sakit bijik mata tgk permainan politik busuk yg berlaku... Serious tak pro sungguh. Tak tau malu... Tikam sana tikam sini. Karma will burn your arses babeh(s)...Hahaha. When that happens, I'll be the one who hides all the fire extinguishers. Rasakan ko semua! *evil chuckle*

What about YOU? What's YOUR December plans?

Snapshot: Christmas Cookies ver 1.0

This year I decided to bake only 2 types of Christmas cookies due to time constraint. Okay, maybe 3 if I can manage... Can't believe that last year I baked 5 types of cookies! o.O

Anyway, Christmas is not about how many types of cookies or cakes that we bake, or the table fully laden with food; It's the fellowship and camaraderie that we experience with family, friends and loved ones that matters.

Anyone want to come over for some Christmas visiting? You are very welcome to come! :-)

Tis The Season To Be Merry

... so I decided to change the blog's appearance.

It's 28 days before Christmas.

So I decided to change the skin to keep up with the season.

Searched, downloaded and uploaded the theme.

Then... Madness, mayhem and chaos. Lost all the widgets and the links. Had to re-do everything from scratch, so if I missed your links, do tell me.

Decided to personalize the skin so had to do a bit of tweaking on the html code here and there until my eyes are seeing double and the head starts spinning (html? My programming lecturer would be so proud if he knew! I used to be hopeless when it comes to programming). Try doing coding on a teeny weeny-sized monitor! Bedarah bijik mata!

@%%&&*$$%#!!!

That aside, what are your plans this coming festive season?

  1. Christmas tree standing and 'blinking' already?
  2. Biscuits and cakes already listed down?
  3. Presents scouted and planned?
  4. Christmas outfit?

Last year the Christmas tree theme was red & gold. This year I'm thinking about blue & silver. Bought some ornaments for the tree, hopefully will be able to get more during the trip. Hehe *shopper mode* I'm the official Christmas Tree officer in the family. Meaning no one touches the tree but me. LOL!

Cakes are Mum's forte. I sure hope I have enough time to bake the biscuits as I'll only be back on the 20th. Hmmm... Susah2 aku beli je..Haha

Presents? I think I'll just grab the presents for my nephews and nieces while on holiday. Priority for the smaller ones though. Haha, pokai lah if I have to get for all 15. Yeah, I got 15 nephews and nieces.

I've got a few dresses that I have yet to wear so I'll just select one. Haha... (Konon lah... Nanti terjumpa baju lawa terbeli la pulak..LOL!)

p/s: I'll be Kch on Monday until my flight to KL on Wednesday... Holi-Holiday!!! Yay!

Snapshots: Sarikei Bloggers Gawai Visiting 2008

Too bad I missed meeting Puteri in person. Was so caught up with everything in my longhouse; Gawai, Dad getting food poisoning and my 2 cousin getting hitched in the same night (meaning I have to somehow 'officiate' or at least be present on behalf of Dad). Not easy being Dad's girl.
Only managed to reach home in the evening on 3rd June. I drove since Dad was still not feeling well. This year's Gawai got to be the most tiring Gawai I've ever had. Penat wei...
So, we decided to have the Sarikei bloggers open house on the 4th.
1st stop, my house. Grace and Sula brought along Grace's colleague, Albert and his wife. Albert was my ex-classmate in secondary school, although if I recall correctly he wasn't one of my victims (mangsa kena dera). Hehe...
Showed them some videos taken during Gawai celebration in my longhouse. Grace was so surprised when I told her that I won the 1st prize for ngajat competition. Hehe... Are you surprised?
Next stop, we went to Cuthess' place. Albert & wife excused themselves and so it was only us, gang of 4 left. We chatted about some mutual friends and their updates. Topik wajib? Scan kaler of course..heheh
Then we went to Grace's place. Waa... I miss muni the dog so much. Muni managed to startle Cuthess and so she was screaming in the car.
Pejalai was at home, lama sudah tidak jumpa dia ni, and Debbie was not glued to her book (I think la). Grace and Sula made BBQ 'anuk' and 'ahem'. Didn't take any picture as we were busy stuffing our faces with it. Hehehe...
While I was at Grace's place, watched the news and learnt in horror that fuel price was to increase by 40% come midnight. Siyalll!
On our way back, Cuthess and I was stuck in a traffic jam (in Sarikei for goodness sake!) because of people all rushing to buy their petrol at the price of RM1.92 for the last time. Only reached home at 10.30 pm. Penat!

Snapshots: Reunion, Mother's Day

This is not really a reunion but more of a gathering. My relatives from Dad's side from Durin came to visit us. Yummy food galore. Hehehe... I am happy that I'm starting to know more of my extended relatives (Ibans have very huge extended families. And these are from my paternal grandfather's side). I've visited my relatives in Durin before but I do hope to visit them again. Been years since I last visited my paternal grandfather's ancestral home, in Mawan (somewhere in Batang Lebaan area). So far, haven't finished meeting ALL the extended family yet. Still got those in Kanowit, Julau, Pakan, Lasi, Tubah (and that's only from Dad's side!)
Had Rosary prayer in our house last Wednesday. I decided to hold a surprise Mother's Day celebration also to celebrate all the mommies in the prayer group. Here all the mommies (above 50 years old) cutting the cake. Mum was pleasantly surprised (gave her Mum's Day gift ages ago... Hehehe)
Lord God, bless our mothers with good health and strength. Amen.

Lord, bless our Daddies too. Amen.

Happy Teacher's Day 2008

Something for the teachers:

Jika hari ini seorang Perdana Menteri berkuasa,
Jika hari ini seorang Raja menaiki takhta
Jika hari ini seorang Presiden sebuah negara
Jika hari ini seorang ulama yang mulia
Jika hari ini seorang peguam menang bicara
Jika hari ini seorang penulis terkemuka
Sejarahnya dimulakan oleh seorang guru biasa
Dengan lembut sabarnya mengajar tulis-baca.

Mothers

To my two mothers... Mak and Mak Siko

Thanks for being there for me.
Thanks for loving me.
Thanks for accepting me as I am.
Thanks for believing in me.

Thanks for not listening to what the doctors said.
Thanks for proving them wrong.
Thanks for wiping off every feverish sweat.
Thanks for the discipline.
Thanks for the strict schedule.
Thanks for the morning mug of Milo or milk.
Thanks for the yummy foods.

There's so many things that I am thankful for.
But most of all,
Thanks for being my mommy.

Happy Mother's Day!

Hmm... Think I'm gonna treat my Mum and Dad to a seafood dinner at our favorite seafood spot in Sibu. Hehe...

V-Day Wish

It's that season again. The season when the florists' and gift shop owners' smiles literally touch their ears. It's that time of the year when your field of vision will be invaded by flowers, flowers, teddy bears, flowers, candlelight dinners, and more flowers. It is the time when guys are EXPECTED to buy gifts and flowers to their spouses or partners, 'cause if you don't, YOU ARE IN DEEP SHIT TROUBLE BUDDY!

Some would refer to this particular day as VD, or V-Day. Not surprisingly, I read somewhere that cases of STDs or VD usually peaks after the V-Day period. Hmmmnnn... So, couples out there (not that I am encouraging PMS - pre-marital sex, geddit?), please use protection. Protect your loved ones and most importantly, protect yourself.
~ This community service message is NOT by any means sponsored by any brand of protection. Hehe

Some chose to celebrate it with a romantic candlelight dinner, some just enjoy a quiet romantic time together, some say it with words, some say it with flowers, some say it with gifts. Whatever way it is said, it will touch the heart of those who receives it. Valentine's day isn't just for the lovers, it's for everyone that touches our life in various special ways.

Funny isn't it? That out of 365 days in a year (366 this year), we chose to designate a day to celebrate love. Only a day? So, the other days we're not to show our appreciation to those we love? Love is to be celebrated every day. Some people I know only have the guts to confess their feelings on this day, only to get their hopes dashed when it's a day too late for them *sigh*

Ada apa dengan Valentine's Day?

Christmas Blessings

It is the in the season of Advent. A period to prepare ourselves to receive Christ into our lives. This is the season to reexamine ourself and all the things that we did along the year. It is also our chance to count our blessings and to thank God for all that He had given us, especialy the gift of the birth of our Savior.

I thank the Lord for the blessings that He had given me:

My life (You saved me when I was in the womb, You saved me when I was born, and keeping me alive through all the years)

my family (they made me into who I am, my flesh and blood, my pillar and my greatest supporters),

friends (for being there and sometimes, for not being there),

getting into my Dip.Ed and scoring as the top student (proving that people who lived on trees are naturaly have better cognitive functions),

my lecturers (they've taught me one thing or the other),

Dr.Gaudart, my mentor (my inspiration to be the best)

my practical teaching,

my students (the good, the bad and the ugly),

my youngest cousins, Baby Blessed Gabriel Jaydean and Baby Kyra Alexandra Yap (their birth are nothing short of miracles),

finally free of the thing that been making my life miserable (I am a survivor),

the mistakes i have made (that i will be wiser),

and the strength that Christ has given me thus far (You are my light, my star to Betlehem).
