Blogger rant: Comment & reply

I know I'm supposed to blog about the Gawai celebration this year (visit my photoblog for the snapshots) but I just have to get this out of my system now because I'm kinda pissed off.

At what?

At people who don't have the decency to reply to comments. I find it basic courtesy to reply to comments be it compliments, critiques or even enquiries. Logically thinking, when one asks a question it's because one needs an answer isn't it? We don't need to be a rocket scientist to understand that. I have this policy of responding to the comments left at my blog since it's, you know, human to be polite to others.

What triggered this outburst? I am a supporter of the Iban blogging scene and so I'd visit the blogs on my friends' bloglist. I visited some of the blogs and I happen to see some familiar faces on their blog sonaturally I'd ask if it's the same person that I know. Mana la tau if it's pelanduk dua serupa kan? The first time I commented on this blog (tak payah nak sebut which blog la) I saw someone who looked like my ex-uni mate. I asked. That was last year. Until now, I never get any reply.
Okay.
Then I saw a pic of the blog owner with someone who I knew very well, a family friend, so I commented. Again, no reply.

FCUK la dey!

I may be someone you don't know but hey, a lot of other bloggers who were total strangers have the basic courtesy of replying and from there we became blogger friends.

Is it because I blog mostly in English that you deemed me un-Iban and thus, undeserving to be replied to? (Sh!T man, that was the excuse that an asshole gave me years back. Un-Iban enough my ass! )

Or is it because you're an ass??

Snapshots: Sarikei Bloggers Gawai Visiting 2008

Too bad I missed meeting Puteri in person. Was so caught up with everything in my longhouse; Gawai, Dad getting food poisoning and my 2 cousin getting hitched in the same night (meaning I have to somehow 'officiate' or at least be present on behalf of Dad). Not easy being Dad's girl.
Only managed to reach home in the evening on 3rd June. I drove since Dad was still not feeling well. This year's Gawai got to be the most tiring Gawai I've ever had. Penat wei...
So, we decided to have the Sarikei bloggers open house on the 4th.
1st stop, my house. Grace and Sula brought along Grace's colleague, Albert and his wife. Albert was my ex-classmate in secondary school, although if I recall correctly he wasn't one of my victims (mangsa kena dera). Hehe...
Showed them some videos taken during Gawai celebration in my longhouse. Grace was so surprised when I told her that I won the 1st prize for ngajat competition. Hehe... Are you surprised?
Next stop, we went to Cuthess' place. Albert & wife excused themselves and so it was only us, gang of 4 left. We chatted about some mutual friends and their updates. Topik wajib? Scan kaler of course..heheh
Then we went to Grace's place. Waa... I miss muni the dog so much. Muni managed to startle Cuthess and so she was screaming in the car.
Pejalai was at home, lama sudah tidak jumpa dia ni, and Debbie was not glued to her book (I think la). Grace and Sula made BBQ 'anuk' and 'ahem'. Didn't take any picture as we were busy stuffing our faces with it. Hehehe...
While I was at Grace's place, watched the news and learnt in horror that fuel price was to increase by 40% come midnight. Siyalll!
On our way back, Cuthess and I was stuck in a traffic jam (in Sarikei for goodness sake!) because of people all rushing to buy their petrol at the price of RM1.92 for the last time. Only reached home at 10.30 pm. Penat!

Snapshots: Makan-makan Blogger 3

The 3rd Makan-Makan Blogger was hosted by Grace the Hornbill last Saturday. Cuthess couldn't attend as she had to supervise renovation works in her place (Nda ngawa Cath, Ila kami merasmikan toilet baru nuan..Hehe). La joined us for the first time and we had a merry time enjoying the delicious food and *ahem* singing sessions. I really enjoyed myself and hornbill's place is great. I kind of envy her house with it's own huge area and space without having to endure annoying neighbours. Nganti ku ngaga rumah ba Kim San ila kitai berjiran youuuu....

BBQ Chicken Wings, *ahem* non-halal kambing and some brinjals.
Tukang hidup api: Grace
Tukang Panggang: yours truly & niece

Our hostess, The hornbill. Thanks for the lovely food and the ultra fresh foodies.

Snapshots: Makan-makan Blogger 2

Went for Makan-makan Blogger 2 at Cuthess' place. It's her turn to be the hostess. Just as I was going crazy taking photos at my Sis' place I received an S.O.S. SMS from Cuthess.

Went to her place with some firewood and tried to get the fire started. Haha. I was never Scout material (almost hopeless when it comes to building a fire), so it was a game of trial and error.

After huffing and puffing and getting soot all over the place, managed to get the fire going. Wait till Mum hear about this. She'll be so surprised. Haha.

What's on the menu? BBQ wings. Yummy. Guess who's the 'tukang BBQ'? Heheh
Cuthess, Ms.J and Ms.L posing in the kitchen. (eksyen je tu) heheh

Before we 'belasah' the food.

"Oi! Enough la, I'm hungry now!"

Thanks Cuthess for being such a good hostess... She was scrambling all over the place to get things ready and forbidding us from lifting a finger to clean up. Hehe
Had a fun time chatting with everyone. Ms. J and I know each other since we were small kids and she was the only one of the limited number of people who can call me by my other name. Heheh

When 3 Sarikei Bloggers Meet

Last Saturday had a pre-bloggers meet kinda thingy. Cat and theHornbill and my friend from DipEd days came and enjoyed the Balinese ambience in my backyard (according to Cat la, ya la tu) Haha.. Our activities? Mostly it was for us to meet and discuss our teaching methods.

Yeah. Right.

We had a good time, chatting and catching up on the latest updates in each others life. Bitch about Sing praises of our bosses and colleagues and a certain individual we dubbed as scan colour. Haha.. Actually we shared some funny stories about life, people and our students' antics.

Didn't have enough ingredients for my BBQ wings marinade, so have to make do with whatever that is available in the kitchen. But apparently not much of a difference, since they seemed to like it. Hmm... either that or they were starving so bedal je la. Ye ke? Cat, we are SO looking forward for your chinese turkey. heheh

On another note, my fellow blogger Cat seems to be targetted by an individual with rather questionable intent. Hmm... malicious intent? maybe. Jealousy? Could be. Well, we don't really know what is her problem with Cat, but to hit and hide, that's just beneath low. That's so sick and simply reeks of being a psycho. The world is such a scary place with people like this.

But Cat will not bow down and hide. She's a fighter. Catfight? You betcha. Bring it on! Meaooowwww!!!

p/s: Cat, whatever she said about your language, u did a good job because u r willing to learn. Keep it up girl!
