I've been having blocked nose for a long time and have never given much thought to it. I was diagnosed as having sinus problems and given medication to control it. Lately, I've been having this discharge from the nasal cavities in my mouth that has a bad smell and taste. Eewww..... I wanted to see the Doctor earlier but knowing me... tau tau lah...
So today I finally decided to see the Doctor today after the discharge becomes more frequent and I can't even speak properly from my nasal congestion. The Doctor diagnosed my condition as Sinusitis ( read it here and here ) and wonders why I didn't come sooner as my condition is quite serious and my sinuses are infected.
"What?! Serious arr Doc???"
yeah, yeah, as if the Doc is joking... Hmm... Doesn't look like it [smiles sheepishly]
Then the bomb that jerks me into attention...
"This is quite serious as acute sinusitis can lead to brain infection."
What?! Ohmigosh... [calculating how long have this symptom happened, realized that few weeks already] My brain... my precious brain is in danger!!! Help!!!!
Now that she got my attention, the Doc proceeds to prescribe lots and lots of medication (ubat lagi), and lists what is the next course of treatment for my condition... which includes combination with other types of antibiotics and nasal puncture. (Nasal puncture? Sounds like they're gonna pop a hole or something...)
Called Dad to inform my condition. Kena lecture because of my tardiness in getting treatment... :( Ok Dad, I promise that in the future I will seek immediate treatment to any health issues I have (kalau ingat, hehe).
So, I will be meeting the Doc again next week... *sigh* Insaf lah macam ni... Tak nak tangguh2 lagi lain kali. In the mean time, makan ubat lah lagi....
