Turning One

Come 26th February, Anakapai's blog, this portal I call home will mark it's 1st year of existence. I accidentally came upon blogging when I stumbled into a friend's blog. Reading her post made me realize that there's another existence in the cyberworld. where anyone can be someone...

where i can be...

...silly
...vain
...selfish
...sarcastically honest
...temperamental
...show the dark side of me
...self-indulged
...show my narcisstic streak ( I LOVE MYSELF TOO DAMN MUCH!)

when in real life people see me as...
...serious
...funny
...no nonsense type of person
...happy
...

you see, what people see when they meet me in the real life may not be me at all. I wear masks.Masks that shield you from seeing the real me.The masks are only removed when I'm with my closest friends..Friends who've proven themselves worthy to see the REAL me...

I wear masks that suits the occasions. A smile may not be a smile...life is like an ongoing masquerade ball...masks to let the world see us the way they want to see us...

In my blog, I can be whatever I am.Speak the truth, whatever's in my mind, without having to filter/dilute the truth. For in real world, feelings are fragile and I'd hate to hurt anyone cause life ain't got any "undo" button...

The blog also came as a therapy for me. I was on the mend from a disastrous relationship. I was feeling rather low due to being financially dependent after earning my own moolah to nada...I was reconstructing my dignity, rediscovering myself and learning to put myself first, above all things (except God & Family, that is)... I've blogged about the stress that I faced, studies, psychotic guys who can't get a clue, friends... writing it all became a soul-mending session, you know, when you pour out all the jumbled contents in your mind and you sort it out...Introspectively analyzing myself...and I came to know myself better...

and I met some new friends, fellow bloggers who shared about life and everything in between...I met wonderful people like Him, Her, and many others who somehow touched me in ways I couldn't explain. To you dear friends, thank you...

Here's to wishing another year of In Anakapai's Eyes... *cheers*
