SMART ASS STUDENTS vs SMARTER ASS TEACHER

Teacher: I want you to write this essay and submit all FOUR parts.

Students [simultaneously]: Apu! Mayuh amat/ Banyak sangat/Too many, teacher!

Teacher: Last time, when I was in school, I have to submit SIX parts!

Students: Nya kelia Cikgu!/ Itu dulu. Sekarang lain...

Teacher: Okay. If you want to put it that way... Let's see. Last time a packet of nasi lemak used to cost 20 sen, now it costs 50... If last time I have to write FOUR parts, now you have to write TWELVE or FIFTEEN parts! Would you like that?

Students: ARGHHH!!!!!

Teacher: Value of money changes thru times. Assignments can too :)

Student: Sapa pandai-pandai tadi!! bla...bla... Kita ngenemu ka diri...

Students: [groan.mumble]

Teacher: :) [Mentally savouring her triumph yet again]

I don't believe that would be the likely scenario - my wife used to be a temporary teacher and of she upsets any of the students - they just pick up their handphones and a few gangsters will be waiting outside the school when school sessions end. Hehehe...

"Jaga nuan Ciguuu...."
"Wa pak lu!"
"Kateng wa tang luu..."
"Legi kami ngipa nuan!

Well, students also change through time and that is the latest trend I think :)

encha,
biasa meh nya. dalam hati menyumpah2 cikgu... tapi enti dikenang, kategal cikgu meh kitai tu ulih nyadi mensia..hehe

Desmond,
that depends on the location actually. In BIG cities, there is a problem with gangsterisms.

Even in small place like here pun, pernah student threaten me because i tegur masa they cheat in exam. but i know that the student just try to gertak me.

schools in rural areas don't really have that gangsterism problem, only problem in lack of interests in studying/learning.

With students, kena tgk dulu perangai and their situation and adapt our approach. Too authoritative, and they'll view that as a challenge, lagi susah. For me, I treat my students as friends but at the same time, they know that I am in charge and they have to respect that.
