Flashback 2009

2009 was a tumultuous year for me.

It started on a very bad note and every day was a personal hell of a struggle for me. At that time, it seemed like the dark days are going to remain forever.Only my closest friends knew the nitty-gritty details. These bunch of friends are privy to my most personal thoughts and feelings and they were my pillar of strength during those days. I am truly blessed to have them as my closest, bestest friends. Love you lots girls!

Life were truly hell during those days and yet at work I continued to be the same cheerful, upbeat person. Work was the only place I can escape the pain since being busy kept me from wallowing in misery. Everyone who knew me at work saw me joking and laughing as hard as ever but in reality, I was crying in my heart. I laughed because I believed that by laughing and joking, I could chase the blues away. I guess it worked as slowly but surely, I started to feel better albeit only at work.

The moment I reached home, the pain returns. The hurt of seeing objects that reminds me of the most painful, heartbreaking moment of my life. It hurt.

My room became my sanctuary. I kept to myself, keeping all communications at home to the absolute minimum. I was building my defences, anything to prevent from being hurt again. At times I wondered if things will ever get better at home...

And it did.

Slowly but things did change.

I know I changed. I became more assertive. I fought for what I believe in. Never been a stubborn one in the family and definitely not one to go against others, my change caught my family by surprise.

Promising signs are showing now, and I'm happy to see it.

I'm finally nearing the light at the end of the tunnel. It ain't over yet, but soon... soon, I will find my bliss.

To my dear readers,

Happy New Year 2010
May the coming year brings blessings, happiness, success, love and prosperity into our lives.
God bless!

xoxo

Snapshot: Christmas Cookies ver 1.0

This year I decided to bake only 2 types of Christmas cookies due to time constraint. Okay, maybe 3 if I can manage... Can't believe that last year I baked 5 types of cookies! o.O

Anyway, Christmas is not about how many types of cookies or cakes that we bake, or the table fully laden with food; It's the fellowship and camaraderie that we experience with family, friends and loved ones that matters.

Anyone want to come over for some Christmas visiting? You are very welcome to come! :-)

Snapshots: Holiday

I'm baaaacccckkk... *grin*grin*
Well, not actually back from my holiday... I'm still in KL enjoying myself doing nothing but relaxing and chilling out. My flight back is on this Sunday T.T huhuhu...
Soon, I'll be back to the chaos of baking and cleaning and decorating frenzy at home... Breaking into a sweat just thinking 'bout it... Phewwww...

My journey started with a 4-hour boat journey from Sarikei. It started out as quite a comfortable journey until we are out in the open sea. The water was quite choppy and halfway there was a rainstorm. Ughhhh! I ended up queasy and seasick, a rare thing to happen to me. By the time I reached my hotel room, all I wanted to do was to sleep... Ended up having a short nap after my shower and dinner, only woke up when my niece arrived.

The next day was spent in theSpring. As usual, spent a lot of time in MPH and ended up buying books :p... By the time my friend and niece arrived, we went for dinner at the food bazaar and what do you know, we just had to go to Parkson... Ended up buying a brown top and lace skirt by Anne Kelly. The skirt was for my niece, punyalah suka selepas berjaya menyembelih aunty tersayang yea...

The next day, went for lunch with my childhood friend, Danniel. Wah, all 'grown' now eh? LOL! Then off to the airport for my flight at 9pm... A freakin' 7-hour wait at the airport. Spent my time enjoying some coffee at Starbucks. Free wi-fi bah... Hehe. My ass kebas from all that sitting down.

Look at my eyes... The thing that I wanted most at this moment was to lie down on a bed and sleep. LOL! I was quite dizzy also ( it happens when my blood sugar level is low), so I quickly got myself some chocolates, otherwise I could pass out. :(
(p/s: I almost scared my friends to death once when I almost passed out because of hypo-glycaemia. That's why I always keep chocs or candies with me)

Met up with my ex-classmate and fellow blogger MamaDoyee. Had great fun chatting and shopping with her. Aqila and Aqif are seriously adorable... :) They were flying back to Miri the next day, so she was busy doing some last minute shopping... Ila betemu baru, capuh baru menua gasak tua Dolly... Haha
(p/s: I'm wearing the Anne Kelly top in the above pic)

I also went for the L'oreal makeover. Nice???
I love the way they styled my hair. If only I have my own personal hairstylist to style my hair for work, I'd wear this hairstyle to work... Hehe

Went to 1Utama to watch 'A Christmas Carol' in 3D... The movie was ok, quite enjoyable for me, though the seats were not quite strategic for a 3D movie. While we were there, saw a trio of gorgeous ladies performing Christmas songs using harps. I swear I was like a small kid waiting for the show to begin.

Dinner at BBQ chicken... Salad is not my thing but the salad here is delicious. A must try. Just forget about the fried chicken as it is quite bland and tasteless.

My trip to KL is not complete without enjoying some satay kajang. This time, I had satay rusa! Yay!!!
Satay Monster...Haha

Tis The Season To Be Merry

... so I decided to change the blog's appearance.

It's 28 days before Christmas.

So I decided to change the skin to keep up with the season.

Searched, downloaded and uploaded the theme.

Then... Madness, mayhem and chaos. Lost all the widgets and the links. Had to re-do everything from scratch, so if I missed your links, do tell me.

Decided to personalize the skin so had to do a bit of tweaking on the html code here and there until my eyes are seeing double and the head starts spinning (html? My programming lecturer would be so proud if he knew! I used to be hopeless when it comes to programming). Try doing coding on a teeny weeny-sized monitor! Bedarah bijik mata!

@%%&&*$$%#!!!

That aside, what are your plans this coming festive season?

  1. Christmas tree standing and 'blinking' already?
  2. Biscuits and cakes already listed down?
  3. Presents scouted and planned?
  4. Christmas outfit?

Last year the Christmas tree theme was red & gold. This year I'm thinking about blue & silver. Bought some ornaments for the tree, hopefully will be able to get more during the trip. Hehe *shopper mode* I'm the official Christmas Tree officer in the family. Meaning no one touches the tree but me. LOL!

Cakes are Mum's forte. I sure hope I have enough time to bake the biscuits as I'll only be back on the 20th. Hmmm... Susah2 aku beli je..Haha

Presents? I think I'll just grab the presents for my nephews and nieces while on holiday. Priority for the smaller ones though. Haha, pokai lah if I have to get for all 15. Yeah, I got 15 nephews and nieces.

I've got a few dresses that I have yet to wear so I'll just select one. Haha... (Konon lah... Nanti terjumpa baju lawa terbeli la pulak..LOL!)

p/s: I'll be Kch on Monday until my flight to KL on Wednesday... Holi-Holiday!!! Yay!
